Shaun Angel

Shaun Angel

Shaun has an unbridled passion for simplifying the pursuit of fitness, health and nutrition for the clients of Livewell and Flex 151. As a former wrestler, he knows the accumulated toll that starvation, calorie counting and overtraining has on the body’s ability to deliver peak results and keep a strong immune system. When he shifted from competing athletically on the mat to competing for survival in corporate America, Shaun learned the hard way that the increased demands of balancing life, raising kids, and driving for promotions meant for his days in the gym were gone. When Shaun learned about time under load training principles and anti-inflammatory eating strategies, he was finally able to understand the concepts of working smarter, safer and “Less is More” in both his Sales career and his health pursuits. Performance in both areas improved dramatically, prompting him to take this passion and knowledge to more people who needed help. 

Shaun has trained martial arts since the age of five and holds multiple black belts and degrees in several styles, including Hapkido, Sung Moo Kwan Hapkido and Danzan Ryu Jujitsu. In addition to his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana, he has a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado State University and is a Certified Personal Trainer. He loves the outdoors and spending time with his two kids and wife. His favorite speech is ‘Man in the Arena’ by Theodore Roosevelt and his favorite word is ‘kaizen’, a Japanese concept he likes to share with his clients and live by…small incremental change adds up to big change over time.

Yoga has changed my life profoundly, not only physically but spiritually as well. During a crisis point in my life I had the thought that I should practice yoga every day. I signed up at a local studio and did go every single day. That was the beginning of a whole new life for me. I began teaching in 2006 and completed my teacher training through Yoga Alliance in 2009 www.yogaalliance.org . I have continued my training with many nationally and internationally known teachers including; Rolf Gates author of Mediations from the Mat www.rolfgates.com , Doug Keller author of Yoga as Therapy www.doyoga.com , Gabriel Azoulay creator of Bikyasa , www.bikyasayoga.wordpress.com Lorin Roche & Camille Maurine authors of Radiance Sutras and Meditation Secrets for women www.lorinroche.com . I am also trained in 12 step recovery yoga, a program created by Nikki Myers which helps people with addiction issues. www.y12sr.com , Finally I have been trained to teach Kids Yoga by Youth Yoga School here in Evansville and have been enjoying teaching yoga to 1st graders at Sharon Elementary school for over 2 years. I am a retired counselor . I have found my counseling background has been complimentary to teaching yoga. I also have been trained in Reiki and am a level three Healing touch practitioner. Yoga is not only what I do and teaching it is my passion!

Food is my medicine. There was a definite point in my life when I noticed that I was no longer indestructible. I could no longer put toxic foods and drinks in my body and expect to live a long fulfilling life. I was at a turning point and needed to do something different. I had to be free from old things that were governing my life. Health and nutrition is very important to me now. I had to put down the things that were bad for me and start making new choices. Choices, like juicing, that have made me feel a thousand times better. I still have lots to learn and as long as I'm teachable and willing to strive to make the right choices then I am growing. Today, I am living a life that I would have never imagined for myself. It's a life that helps others and because of that I have found happiness for myself.

LaDonna Montgomery

LaDonna has been teaching Group Fitness classes for 8 years. She currently holds certifications through AFFA, The Y, TRX, Zumba, Les Mills, and BootyBarre. She became interested in Barre through her love of dance. LaDonna's knowledge of dance and music provides an energizing class that is both fun and challenging. She understands the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and hopes to inspire and instill confidence in her students as they work together towards their goals.

Laura Tenbarge

Hi my name is Laura Tenbarge and I am so blessed to be apart of the Live Well Team. I am a mother of three beautiful girls. My hobbies include music,art, reading,being active(sports & exercise) and cooking. When I am not at Live Well, I am teaching Pre-School children. I get to use my creativity freely and be silly and have fun. Laughter is important to me and I am an optimist through and through. I love helping and serving others. I am a born again Christian and feel life is truly a gift from God and I want to live my life to the fullest.
My health journey started a little later in life but no time like the present. I have learned much and am still learning. I believe we are fearfully and wonderfully made, so I want to take care of what I have. Our bodies are so amazing and designed so perfectly so I have learned that food is truly our medicine and that medicine is our food. In the past two years I have seen so many health benefits without medicines or side effects. I have seen it first hand, so I have a passion to share with others my experience and knowledge. Of course I am still learning because the journey of life is not over yet. Life is good...God Bless your journey.

Jessica L. Altman is a Certified Yoga Teacher, Certified Massage Therapist, Certified Crystal Healer and a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner.  Jessica has been involved in Holistic medicine her entire life from her upbringing by a Naturopathic Physician to her recent completion of her 200 hours of training at the Kripalu center for Yoga and Health, her focus has been on using the power of self and nature to affect healing from within.  Jessica completed her training as a Massage therapist in 2001 from the Florida Academy of Massage and Skin care; Crystal Healing and Reiki certifications in 2014, and became a Yoga Teacher in 2015.  She brings personalized experience with the power of self to correct Fibromyalgia and other health related issues that she has managed and resolved herself with these modalities.  Jessica's passion in life in sharing her gift with you and using her tools to help you find your own healing path.

Molly is a former calorie-counting gym junkie turned food-loving health coach and personal trainer. After struggling to find time to make it to the gym with two kids, Molly found a workout that fit her lifestyle and a way of eating that didn’t leave her feeling deprived, more energetic, and relieved the symptoms of her digestive issues. Now, nothing brings Molly more joy than sharing the knowledge that fueled her transformation and allows her to maintain a balanced healthy lifestyle.

Molly is now a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She enjoys combining her Culinary Arts degree with her passion by teaching workshops on cooking for health. Her teachings are practical for busy families that need time-friendly solutions on a budget. She believes the pursuit of perfection is the enemy keeping us from our true selves and urges her clients to stop the comparison that is killing their contentment and health.

Andrew Geiger

Hi there, My name is Andrew ( Drew ) Geiger, I have an Associates Degree in Exercise Science graduating from MTSU ( Middle Tennessee State Univ) located in Murfreesboro TN. I was born and raised in Jacksonville FL, alongside me are my two brothers and a loving mother who raised us to excel in everything that we do, to always be creative and to pursue any dreams that we may have. I have always felt that living a healthy lifestyle has and always will be a part of my life and eing able to teach others the same values and benefits makes me the happiest. I've been a trainer for the YMCA and Golds Gym. My hobbies include a vast variety of things, such as... hunting, fishing, camping, dirt-bike riding, four-wheeling, spending time with my family and friends, going to the movies, and of course, going to the gym and building my body for greatness.

I am a 200hr certified yoga teacher thru Evansville Yoga Center. I love yoga because it helps in every aspect of your life if you let it! My work of teaching yoga is like receiving an amazing gift everyday! I get to witness the journey of my students as they heal from things like depression, fatigue and stress. I get to see them grow in their practice and see their bodies grow stronger and more flexible. Fostering an atmosphere that encourages creativity and friendship are my hopes in the classroom. I am a mother, a grandmother, a lover of people, nature and books.

Kristi Hall Harris is Director of Spa Services and Resident Massage Therapist at Livewell featuring Flex 151.
I want my clients to be renewed and revitalized from the inside out. My clients receive a very personalized massage helping them discover themselves from within, while physically preparing them for what life may bring their way. I enjoy offering innovative treatments and incorporating effective techniques, always seeking better and unique ways of helping my clients prime their bodies for its full healing potential. I love using natural organic health promoting products.

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2001 studying at Louisville School of Massage, Bodyworks Massage Institute, The Upledger Institute for Craniosacral Therapy, and Skin Care Training with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. Other experiences with health and fitness included owning and operating a fitness center and spa, personal training, leading group exercise classes and inspiring others to reach their goals.

I am excited to share my passion and knowledge of health and wellness with my clients and the team at Livewell.

Amberly Hirsch

I worked in a fast pace, high stress job position prior to coming to Livewell. My husband and I recently had our first sweet baby girl, Sadie. I realized quickly I needed to live a healthier lifestyle physically and mentally. Since I have joined the Livewell team, the positive attitudes and fun-loving personalities of everyone here were just so contagious that I couldn’t help but feel happy just at the thought of coming to “work”. I finally feel like what I am doing has a purpose. I LOVE helping people feel better! When I was in high school I was told I had some health issues and at the time was told only medication could help. Later in life I started learning more about what all the health food options and working out could do for me. I decided to try it out, what could it hurt? THE RESULTS WERE AMAZING! I genuinely believe the healthier you are, the happier you are! I look forward to sharing my experiences and helping people make steps to better their health in the future!

I'm Julie Pugh. My husband Mark and I have three adult children - Joseph, Loren and Anthony. We have one beautiful granddaughter, Josie Marie. We own Alpha Organics. My journey with yoga started in 2010, and as the years passed my thirst for knowledge and love for yoga grew. I finished my teacher yoga certification May 2016. My absolute favorite yoga pose is the "warrior".

Rachel is an Exercise Science and Nursing student at the University of Evansville. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL. where she was active in many activities. In high school she competed in swimming and water polo on the varsity level. She has made it a point to live a healthy life and wants to share her knowledge with those around her. In her free time Rachel enjoys traveling/studying abroad, spending time outdoors, playing with her dog, and visiting with friends and family back home. After college Rachel plans on furthering her education and continuing to expand her knowledge in the medical and fitness fields. Rachel is excited to be a part of the Livewell team, and looks forward to helping others overcome the challenges and barriers.

Yoga entered my life after the birth of my twins almost 5 years ago. I had done a few classes here and there before that time, however it wasn’t until motherhood that I fell in love with this form of exercise. That is how yoga started for me - exercise.

After we welcomed two healthy babies into our family, my time as a working mom with a toddler ended. We decided I would stay home to care for all 3 of my littles and I would give up “my day job” as a middle school teacher. All of the sudden, I had a 3 year old and two tiny humans who needed me and deserved the best version of me. I was so afraid, uncertain, and unsure how I would “do it all”. Strange enough but that’s when Yoga no longer became just exercise - Yoga helped me find the quiet inside that I needed to be “the best version of me.”

Every time I would take a class, or simply roll out my mat, I would feel safe and calm. Each Yoga Instructor I had the pleasure of practicing with would remind me that my Yoga Practice was time for me to let go of expectations, time for me to relax, time for me to listen to my body, time for me - to just be “me”. Little did I know, but those words were like the “permission” I needed to start a new chapter, to leave the old one behind (as a precious memory) and look toward the future knowing I would be alright.

In 2012, I decided along with a good friend, I would enroll in Yoga Teacher Training. I was incredibly nervous, since this training was going to take me away from my family for FULL WEEKENDS at a time for 10 whole months. But, something just kept saying “it’s time.” My first weekend of teacher training, I remember thinking I wasn’t physically ready to be there (my twin pregnancy had left me with separated abdominal muscles and horrible low back pain), I felt I didn’t know enough about yoga, and how could I even consider the possibility of leading adults (wasn’t kids more my thing). But, that quickly disappeared when I heard the stories of all the amazing Men and Women who I would be spending the next 10 months with. They all had different reasons for being there, all of their stories mattered -- so I knew --- so did mine! “It was time”

My yoga journey since the completion of my RYT-200 has had many more chapters. I also finished a 95-hr Children’s Yoga Training and taught countless hours of Kids Yoga (from toddler classes, to girl scout troops, birthday parties, field trips, teen yoga, and community events - ages 3-16). I have deepened my own personal practice and conquered many fears about teaching Yoga to adults, making teaching Yoga an actual part time job! The healing that has happened on my mat both physically, emotionally, and spiritually is something I am forever grateful to those amazing instructors I had so early on in my yoga journey. The lessons I learned about myself over the last 5 years is something I can’t help but want to share with others! I know that there are many others out there like me, who are searching for something to help bring quiet, relaxation, and breath back into their busy lives.

After running my own nutrition consulting business for several years I am looking forward to working with a talented multidimensional team.  My focus is now on group based cooking classes with educational components.  This allows me to combine my passions for nutrition, creating recipes, cooking, teaching, and working with people in small groups so that I am able to get to know each participant.  

My background is in psychology, and that is how I approach helping people create a healthy lifestyle.  Understanding and modifying our behavior and relationship with food and fitness is crucial to establishing and maintaining a healthy routine.  Setting and achieving small goals is a key component in the wellness journey - learning to prepare and enjoy healthy foods is one way we can do this.  I believe that we can still enjoy the foods we love and are comfortable with by making a few healthy adjustments where needed to fit a healthy lifestyle.  Cooking classes are designed with approachable foods, preparation, and information - recipes and tips you will love and love to share with your family and friends.   
 
Beyond the professional, I am a mom, wife, family member, and long time competitive runner (26 years and counting!).  I understand the joys and struggles that we all face trying to balance everything to be the best versions of ourselves.  I'm here to teach, encourage, learn, and meet you where you're at on your wellness journey.  

Lisa Braunecker

I am a wife and mother. For the past 15 years I worked as a Respiratory Therapist and that is where I discovered my true passion to help others feel better and live a more fulfilled life through nutrition and lifestyle change. That is when I decided to further my education and became a Certified Health Coach and Certified Personal Trainer. I've been an avid runner for over 20 years and was able to achieve a personal goal of completing a full marathon in 2013. I feel very blessed to be a part of this team, and I am looking forward to helping others reach their personal goals and achieving their best self posible.

Deanna Muth

Hi! My names is Deanna. I received my level 200 certification in May 2016. I knew yoga was for me after my first practice. Yoga has brought me so much peace in my life and I have grown in ways I never thought was possible. It has helped me with social anxiety and allowed me to cultivate new beginnings. In addition to teaching yoga, I work in social work full time and have 2 wonderful girls.
